Work day: 10/08/2025 (Sunday)

We will be meeting at 10.00 a.m. at the entrance in Woodland Way and the tasks for the day will be as follows:

  1. Clear the fallen Oak stem located near the Rhododendrons and prepare it for milling.

  2. Clear any Rhododendron regrowth in the area previously cleared for planting/replanting.

  3. Recover any tree guards and stakes which are loose and from any dead whips located in the area.

  4. Vegetation encroaching the stretch of top path from the most recent coppiced area to just past the fallen Cherry needs to be cut back and cleared as does the vegetation around the whips planted by the Cubs and from around one of the benches located just below the Recreation Ground.

  5. A bench locate along the middle path also needs renovating with new legs as the others have rotted.

As usual FoF will be providing all the necessary tools for the above tasks but please would you bring your own gloves and tools (shears and loppers) if you have them. Please would you also bring your own wipes and hand gel as well as your own refreshments. Please also remember to wear long trousers/jeans to avoid getting bitten by ticks but FoF’s First Aid kit does contain tick removers if needed.

Please would you let me know if you'll be able to make the work day (chrispm_parker@hotmail.co.uk) – many thanks.
