Work day: 27/08/2025 (Wednesday)

We will be meeting at 10.00 a.m. at the entrance in Woodland Way and the tasks for the day will be as follows:

  1. Collect the tree guards lying in the Rhododendron area and clear the "camp" logs from the path.

  2. Brushcut/scythe and clear the vegetation from around the whips planted by the Cubs and from around the bench located at the bottom of the recreation ground.

  3. Brushcut/scythe and rake the Juniper Glade.

  4. Replace the legs on a bench located at the bottom of the Juniper Glade along the middle path.

  5. Clear the brash from around the fallen branch in the Rhododendron area ready for milling and, depending on time, mill the fallen branch into picnic table/bench tops.

As usual FoF will be providing all the necessary tools for the above tasks but please would you bring your own gloves and tools (shears and loppers) if you have them. Please would you also bring your own wipes and hand gel as well as your own refreshments. Please also remember to wear long trousers/jeans to avoid getting bitten by ticks but FoF’s First Aid kit does contain tick removers if needed.

Please would you let me know if you'll be able to make the work day (chrispm_parker@hotmail.co.uk) – many thanks.
