There are some logs which still need splitting.
Anthony intends to prepare some more legs ready for the installation of several picnic tables/benches which is scheduled to be done by the LexisNexis volunteers who will be joining FoF for a corporate work day on Wednesday 28th September.
The steps leading down to Burwood Avenue from the kissing gate located closest to the water trough are very overgrown and need cutting back.
The small grassy path leading up to the fence where the battery is located has also become very overgrown with bramble and nettles which need to be cut back to allow better access to the battery.
The bramble etc. overhanging the fence running up from the kissing gate mentioned in (3) above towards the pond end of the field also needs cutting back as well as some branches one of which is large. It’s jutting out over the fence into the field and is not causing a particular problem but if it were to break would damage the fence. A long handle pruner will probably be needed to reach the branch.
As usual please would you continue to bring your own gloves and tools (shears and loppers) if you have them but a selection of FoF tools will be available for those who need them. Please would you also continue to bring your own wipes and hand gel as well as your own refreshments. Please also remember to wear long trousers/jeans to avoid getting bitten by ticks but FoF’s First Aid kit does contain tick removers if needed.
As Bill will be supervising the work day please would you let Bill know if you will be able to make the work day ( bessant@mac.com) - many thanks.
