Work day: 29/10/2025 (Wednesday)

We will be meeting at 10.00 a.m. and there are two tasks planned for the day:

(1) To start felling work in the new coppicing site.

(2) To finish scything/brushcutting and raking the Butterfly Glade and to scythe/brushcut and rake the Scalloped Path.

Roger and Mick will be meeting at the coppicing site to start the felling. Entering the wood via Woodland Way, the site is located along the top path at the point where it reaches Sherwood Glade.

Those wishing to help with the scything/brushcutting and raking will be meeting at the entrance in Burwood Avenue. As usual FoF will be providing all the necessary tools for the above tasks but please would you bring your own gloves and tools (shears and loppers) if you have them. Please would you also bring your own wipes and hand gel as well as your own refreshments. Please also remember to wear long trousers/jeans to avoid getting bitten by ticks but FoF’s First Aid kit does contain tick removers if needed.

Please would you let me know if you will be able to make the work day (chrispm_parker@hotmail.co.uk) - many thanks.
