The above work day will be the postponed LexisNexis Corporate Work Day and it’s anticipated 12 volunteers from the company led by Dawn Hartwell will be joining FoF to help with various tasks. The volunteers will start arriving at the entrance in Woodland Way at 09.30 a.m. for a 10.00 a.m. start after they have been given a Health & Safety and Safe Working briefing in compliance with the terms and conditions of FoF’s insurance policies. If possible, please would you also start arriving at about 09.30 a.m. in order to meet and greet the volunteers and to show them where to park and guide them to the Charcoal Glade where the briefing will take place.
The main task for the volunteers will be to install picnic tables and benches at three different sites located around the wood which will involve digging holes for 14 legs and securing a combination of 7 tops/seats. Secondary tasks will be brushcutting/raking the last of the three Butterfly Scrapes along the bottom path, brushcutting and clearing vegetation from around the Junipers also located along the bottom path opposite John’s (Picnic) Glade and splitting the remaining logs located opposite the Firewood Bagging Area.
FoF will be providing all the necessary tools for the above tasks but please would you bring your own gloves and tools (shears and loppers, mattocks, spades and club hammers) if you have them. Please would you also bring your own wipes and hand gel as well as your own refreshments. Please also remember to wear long trousers/jeans to avoid getting bitten by ticks but FoF’s First Aid kit does contain tick removers if needed.
PLEASE COULD I ASK AS MANY FoF VOLUNTEERS AS POSSIBLE TO ATTEND THE WORK DAY TO HELP SUPERVISE THE LEXISNEXIS VOLUNTEERS.
Please would you let me know if you will be able to make the work day – many thanks.
Advance notice
